Vision
The PRIDE Academy will be a learning environment where every
student will acquire the knowledge and skills to be successful
high-school learners.
Mission
The mission of the PRIDE academy is to provide a learning
environment where all students will learn and exhibit the academic
knowledge, skills, and behavior necessary to facilitate a
successful transition into the high school community.
Beliefs
- Our core business is teaching and learning.
- All students can learn and create quality work.
- Students need a positive, safe, and supportive
environment for successful learning.
- A quality education is the shared responsibility of the
child, family, school, and community.
- Academic achievement in the ninth grade creates a
foundation for a successful high school career.
- Effective instruction includes a rigorous
interdisciplinary curriculum with real-world applications.
The PRIDE academy is designed to meet the unique academic needs
of the 9th grade learner. Students are placed on
academic teams that deliver instruction in the four core academic
areas-math, language arts, social studies, and science.
Students on each team receive rigorous instruction in each of these
core academic areas as well as engage in interdisciplinary
instruction that provides connections among subject areas and
real-world applications.
